Perham Chamber

"To expand a diverse economy and lifestyle based on industry, service professionals, retail, agriculture and tourism with an emphasis on quality of life."

The Perham Area Chamber of Commerce began as a small group of business people known as the Civic and Commerce Club. Their intent was to build a strong community in which to raise a family, live, and retain businesses in the Village of Perham.

Over the years, as records have been passed from one officer to another, records have been misplaced or lost. By research and interviews with living participants, we know the Perham Civic and Commerce Club was started in the early 1930's. These dedicated people had the foresight and vision to create a strong foundation to build the economy and retain a healthy environment for the Perham Community.

The Perham Chamber of Commerce was officially incorporated by he State of Minnesota on April 30, 1971. In 1985, "Area" was legally added to the name so that since then, the organization has been known as The Perham Area Chamber of Commerce.

The Perham Area Chamber of Commerce strived to include resorts and other businesses outside the Perham city limits that brought guests to the area. It gave these members the right to vote and hold office in the Perham Area Chamber of Commerce. This action was taken along with the name change in 1985 and voted on by the Board of Directors and the Membership.
