Perham Trolley
All Aboard for the Perham Trolley!
Perham is the namesake of Joseph Perham, the first man with the idea of building a railroad from Lake Superior to the Pacific coast. In 1871 that dream became reality when the Northern Pacific railway came to Perham. This was the first railroad to enter Ottertail County. In the beginning the railway was used to ship lumber and later wheat.
The Perham Trolley represents the Perham area and its beginnings as a railroad town. You can ride the Perham Trolley each Wednesday from Memorial Day to Labor Day from 10 am to noon. The Trolley departs from its depot outside the Perham Area Chamber approximately every 20 minutes. Rides are only $2. All aboard!
